FAQS
The Wall-Mounted Athena™ Side-Mount Functional Trainer is a low-profile cable attachment that is integrated into a 5000 series wall-mount fixed rack. Achieve a full-body workout using the multifunctional capabilities of a functional trainer machine and power rack without requiring the space for separate stand-alone units. In addition, it provides a lower price point (and smaller footprint) than the Ares Attachment which includes a lat pulldown and low row. The Athena™ features a 2:1 pulley ratio, which means 20lbs feels like 10lbs. Each stack weighs 170lbs per side (feels like 85lbs) with the option to upgrade each stack to 220lbs (feels like 110lbs). It features hot-rolled steel plates with a 3% tolerance and a magnetic pin for quick and easy weight changes.
Add bands to the integrated band pegs on the base and headplate for added resistance up to a max of 540lbs. The Athena™ gives you the freedom to customize your rack’s setup. The patent-pending Athena™ features a trolley that allows you to do cable work at any height on the upright and is lined with a special plastic to protect them. The knurled handle and oversized pop-pin make it easy to adjust with one hand. The trolley includes a safety pin for added security while in use. The Athena’s™ cables are made from high-quality, galvanized wire with a raw steel core. The pulleys are made from strong aluminum and the front pulleys have a 180-degree swivel for versatility when working outside the rack. The attachment comes with a urethane D Handle attachment and is compatible with a wide assortment of cable attachments .

On selectorized equipment, you change the weight using a pin and weight stack, rather than adding plates onto weight horns.
The lowest usable weight setting on the selectorized version is 10lbs (feels like 5lbs).
The cable travel is 82.8” for the 80” attachment and 106” for the 93” attachment.
The Wall-Mounted Athena™ will ship ground or freight depending on quantity purchased or if the unit(s) are purchased in conjunction with other large/heavy items.
Structural welds on attachments and frames have a lifetime warranty. Pop-pins, pulleys, bearings, cables, and hardware have a one-year warranty.
The Wall-Mounted Athena™ was designed with leveled floors in mind. However we know not all floors may be perfectly level, and there is room for the standard slope of a floor. For extremely unlevel floors, you may run into issues with installation.
Spotter Arms: Yes, when properly installed, the Wall Mounted Athena™ is very stable. We've tested the spotter arms up to 950lbs. As for the ISO Arms, they are not compatible with the Wall Mounted Athena™.
We cannot guarantee compatibility due to machining/manufacturing differences between companies.
Many attachments are available now and more are in development. A rack’s attachment ecosystem is one of the biggest reasons why you would choose one versus another. When you purchase a power rack, you’re buying into the company’s ability to come out with new attachments that add additional functionality over the life of your power rack. Our engineering team is hard at work developing new attachments every year, and we believe this is one of our biggest differentiators.
Check out our blog, "How to Compare Power Racks", for more information.
Take a glance at our comprehensive comparison of each of them.
Concrete anchors are included to bolt the uprights to the floor. If you would like to mount the stringer to concrete, we suggest purchasing 5/16”x3” HWH Large Dia Concrete Anchors, washers, and ¼"x7” drill bit.
The Wall-Mounted Athena™ is a comprehensive package that comes complete with a dual-sided selectorized Athena™, a pair of uprights, metallic black crossmembers, a rear base stabilizer, a pull-up bar, a pair of j-cups, a stringer, and all the required hardware.
Yes. The stringer must be installed properly. With the combination of the weight stack(s) ,the rear base stabilizer, and bolting the uprights down, the Wall-Mount Athena™ is as solid as can be.
We cannot guarantee compatibility with non-REP products. The Wall-Mounted Athena™ Rear Base Stabilizer was engineered to fit the rear foot of all REP Benches to allow for incline benching up to 30 degrees.

- Rated 5 out of 5 stars1 month agoPerfect size for a small room
I purchased the 80" version (my ceiling height is 96"). This rack was the perfect size for the room. The 80" height leaves enough room for pull-ups. I'm 5'2" so I can also get full ROM doing pull-downs while seated on a bench.
Assembly was straightforward. I had an issue with one weight stack sticking when the pin was inserted into the bottomn weights. REP customer service was excellent in helping troubleshoot the problem.
I've used this for over 3 months now and some things I'd like improved (although minor):
- The uprights have the REP logo in a spot that prevents you from using the hole at #24, which happens to be where I wanted the pulley for one of the exercises.
- It would be nice if there were adder weights for the cable stack. It goes up by too much for me for some exercises like lat raises.

Synopsis:
- Amazing quality with solid feel, smooth cables, and no creaking
- Incredibly space/depth efficient (Perfect intersection of quality/efficiency/price)
- Simple-enough installation (Plan/Measure before you Purchase) thanks to thorough instructions, clarity, and material itemization
- Opt for the 93" unit if possible in your space, and strongly consider upgrading weights on at least one side
- If price is a major consideration, save on peripherals (weights, attachments, bench)
- Athena is compromising utility of the Ares systems, but saving on space and cost while maintaining most of the core functionality.
- Floor-mounting posts or optional feet are not necessary
I recently purchased the Athena Wall-Mount Functional Trainer at the behest of my wife (who with three small kids, simply doesn't have time to drive to the gym, workout, clean-off, and get back to all the demands of the home). We needed a workout solution that allows for a full gym workout, but at home and in a small footprint. We have a typical suburban detached garage and we use every square foot of it, and park two full-sized SUVs in it as well. This unit is on the same side of the garage as my Hyundai Palisade, and when parked, I can easily fit between the rack and the front of the vehicle (to get to the passenger side).
Options/Purchasing Process:
Having looked at the available "space efficient" functional trainer & rack combos, I have absolutely no regrets in purchasing and building-out the Athena…

We are VERY happy with our wall mounted Athena. The assembly instructions were extremely well done and the packing of each and every component was meticulous with inspection stickers in every box. The fasteners were all shadow-boarded and clearly labeled. The functionality of the rack is awesome (we got the 93") and it went into our converted den space with 8' ceilings perfectly. The 4100 bench is also a great fit for our needs and sits nicely within the frame to be out of the way when not in use.
